How do I create an Association?

The Metrixstream "Associations" feature is used to establish a link between a person and the content they are associated with. Whether it's a model that appears on a photo or video or a director of a movie, Associations make it easy to link the two in order for users of your website to better find the content that they are looking for.

 

Creating an Association is as follows:

 

Log into your Metrixstream CMS.

Navigate to the "Browse" option in the menu at the top of the page to the right of the "Home" button.

A drop-down menu will appear. Select the "Content" option in the drop-down menu and click.

This will take you to the "Content" page, where you will be provided with a list of all content you have uploaded to your CMS.

Find the content item that you want to link and click the check-box at the bottom left under the properties of that content.

With the item/ items still checked, navigate back to the top of the page and select the drop-down menu marked "Bulk operations". Select the option to "Make an Association". A box will appear under the "Bulk operations". Type in the name of the account that you would like to associate with the checked content item/ items.

When you are satisfied with your selection, click "Make association with selected content".

The CMS will indicate that the task is processing. 

After the association is made, go to the selected content and the association should be visible under the content's properties.

*Note: In order to create an Association, the person being associated with the content must have an account in the Metrixstream CMS. This is used to make the connection with the content. Make sure to have this available.

*Note: It is only necessary to create an association when you have more than one person linked to a content item. If you wish to link one person with a content item, you can use the "Owners" attribute located in the properties section of a content item. To do this, click on the content item and go to "Edit Properties". Under the list of properties, you will find one that says "Owner". Type in the name of the account that you wish to list as an owner of the content and click "Update" at the bottom of the page. This will save the changes and place you back onto the properties overview page.
